For Those Who Slept...5 - A Group Art Exhibit - Monsterpalooza is the absolute best horror convention on the West coast. This annual affair combines a host of legends within special FX make-up and master creature creators along with a whole slew of up and coming talent who are quickly establishing themselves in the business. We are honored to be included each year in their Monster Museum, where we set up a 20 foot display of our favorite artists for the folks to enjoy. In addition to that display, we broke new ground and presented a killer 3D art exhibit alongside Eric Kurland's wonderfully comprehensive history of 3D exhibit. If you missed the convention, fear not. This month, we have recreated our exhibit in the gallery for you to see. The exhibit makes use of Chromadepth technology. It's an incredible innovation in 3D which actually separates the color spectrum for the viewer, bringing some colors forward and pushing others into the background. Unlike traditional 3D, this allows the artwork to look perfectly normal when viewed with the naked eye…but when the 3D glasses are worn, the artwork dramatically comes to life in unexpected ways. It truly has to be seen in order to grasp the full scope of how incredible and cool this is.
